Aitor Hernandez starts 2023 with good performances in the return of cyclocross competition in the Basque Country. In the CX Amurrio test he took second place and the next day in the CX Ormaiztegi, the last round of the championship, he reached third place.
After the well-deserved rest during the first days of the New Year, the Basque cyclocross returned this Saturday to the calendar to finalize the preparations for the Spanish Championships of the modality. This return to the races occurred in one of the few tests in the region scoring for the ranking of the RFEC, as is the case of Amurrioko Ziklokrossa. In what would be only its second edition, the Alava race would also serve as a test for the state championships of the next course, which will be held at the same circuit. In this test the ISB Sport ambassador cyclist took silver after passing the finish line just 21 seconds behind the first classified.
On Sunday, January 8, came the end of the cyclocross season after 3 months of championship. As the end of the party within the territory, and also of the Basque CX Tournament, the Ormaiztegiko Ziklo-Kross Proba was re-erected for another year. Without major changes in its demanding and varied layout, the event was also valid as Gipuzkoa Championship. On this occasion Aitor Hernandez took a disputed third place.
