29 Jan First scoring race for the ISB Karting Team driver, Unai Pineda [Karting Catalan Cup]
Warmup: The ISB Karting Team driver, Unai Pineda was conservative, with a good pace in the first hour even with the track a little cold and with little grip but with good feelings. This session was useful to check that everything was in place and thus be able to attack well the next one, which would be the time trial where the starting order for the race number 1 is decided.
Qualifying: The engine did not end up running as it should be with some carburetion problems due to changes in ambient temperature and relative humidity marking a discreet P11 as a starting point for the first race.
Race 1: After a rather complex start in which a driver overtook the traffic light and another one stopped his kart, the ISB Karting Team driver was able to avoid the setbacks in tenths of a second and settle in a comfortable P10 during the whole race being the result with which he would cross the finish line. The engine behaved remarkably but not as well as expected.
Race 2: Our driver started from tenth position, the start was very good and impeccable, closing the line to avoid being overtaken constantly. After a first lap full of incidents at various points of the circuit, he finally managed to break away from the pack and pull hard to find a margin of separation with the previous driver of 3 seconds. The race was very hard because, due to an accident, the track became slippery with a slick of gasoline and oil in one of the curves causing that more than one pilot was about to go off the track.
