ISB Sport with EPOWERED RACING UPC

ePoweredRacing, has the support of ISB Sport for the design and production of its electric competition motorcycle

ePoweredRacing, is a team formed by 16 students from the UPC – EEBE (Escola d’Enginyeria de Barcelona Est) of different types of Engineering such as Mechanics, Electronics or Electrical, among others, with a clear objective. To design a 100% electric racing bike to compete in MotoStudent Electric, among other international competitions, and make a better world, starting with creating an electric motorcycle.

The MotoStudent competition consists of producing a 100% electric competition motorcycle, in order to carry out a series of deliveries, tests and finally, a race between all the affiliated university teams, carried out every two years.

The project/prototype with which ePoweredRacing is currently working is the design and manufacture of the ePR03, which will soon present its final design to give way to the manufacturing stage where the components supplied by ISB Sport will be of vital importance to obtain the final prototype.

Finally, the testing stage will come, where the bike will be tuned for dynamic and static tests, culminating it with the race.

The team already has more than 7 years of history and has managed to date to design 3 different prototypes and participate in two competitions (MotoStudent V and MotoStudent VI).

The first prototype was the ePR00, which was the result of 8 months of work. In this first prototype, several days of circuit tests were carried out to take data and compare them with theoretical values, with the aim of correcting errors.

With their second prototype and the ePR01, they registered for the V Edition of MotoStudent, where with 18 months of work and learning from the mistakes of the previous prototype and using the knowledge obtained in the last year of work they obtained the 6th position in the world, the 4th in Spain and the 1st in Catalonia.

Its last completed prototype (the ePR02), aimed to improve all key aspects of the ePR01. As a result of their efforts, the results obtained in the VI Edition of MotoStudent, where the level of general demand increased, managed to obtain the 9th place in the world, the 4th in Spain and the first in Catalonia again.
