PONOMAR WAS CLOSE TO VICTORY AT TROFEO CITTA’ DI BRESCIA

The Lombardy night race saw the Ukrainian rider, back to racing after more than three months, finishing in 2nd place just behind Manuel Oioli.

The classic Trofeo Città di Brescia, a race that takes place at night on a city circuit through the streets of Lombardy’s city, saw Andrii Ponomar, returning from an injury that kept him out of races for more than three months, take second place.

The Ukrainian rider promoted the decisive action, selecting the small group of which he was part with an attack with just under 30 km to go to which only Federico Guzzo, winner of the 2023 edition, and Manuel Oioli responded. The trio arrived together until the final climb, where Oioli was able to beat Ponomar at the sprint.
