Scott Cala Bandida’s team participated in the Cape Epic during the week of March 19-26.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ISB Sport ambassador team, Scott Cala Bandida, achieved an eighth place in the main stage of the competition, although they could not finish it after the abandonment of Jos\u00e9 Mari S\u00e1nchez due to medical problems.<\/p>\n

The ambassadors of ISB Sport returned to give it all one more year in South Africa to get the victory of the most desired and hard competition of the year.<\/p>\n

The race began with a hard fall of Mantec\u00f3n in stage 1 that showed the courage and desire of the Scott Cala Bandida team as they managed to finish the stage with more desire than ever to climb after having to walk more than 15km to solve the breakdown of the bike after the fall.<\/p>\n

The second day left a stage at the height of the Cape Epic, where they managed to overcome the fall of the first day and fight most of the day inside the top 15. Finally, the pains returned and finished in 25th place although with better sensations.<\/p>\n

The next stage was the time trial with 875 meters of altitude. Sergio and Jos\u00e9 Mari managed to finish it in 2 hours and 2 minutes and most importantly they recovered the illusion and desire to continue fighting in stage 5.<\/p>\n

And with enthusiasm and desire they went to the queen stage and with it came the 8th place. The hardest stage of all, with rain and more than 100km caused a fall of Jos\u00e9 Mari, but the team managed to get up and finish with that deserved position.<\/p>\n

In stage 6 the stomach problems of Jos\u00e9 Mari left out of combat the ambassadors of ISB Sport who had to leave the competition, but already thinking about next year: “Despite trying everything, under totally adverse conditions, Jos\u00e9 Mari has been forced to abandon due to stomach problems. We will be back looking forward to revenge buddy!” – Sergio Mantec\u00f3n<\/p>\n

Sergio managed to finish the race individually and add another Cape Epic behind him. Great job from our unlucky ambassadors once again.<\/p>\n
