17 Oct Aitor Hernández’s double in Burgos
Last weekend, we were able to enjoy the annual appointment of the XVII Cyclocross Circuit “Diputación de Burgos”, two scoring tests that were held in Medina de Pomar, on Saturday, and in Villarcayo, on Sunday and that managed to bring together more than 500 cyclists during the weekend.
During this exciting weekend, we could count on the presence of the ISB Sport ambassador, Aitor Hernández (Ermua Innpulso), who did not leave empty-handed and was the great winner of the weekend, achieving the double of victories (in Medina de Pomar on Saturday, and in the Villarcayo race).
In the Sunday race of Villarcayo, Aitor, did not have an easy start. At the start of the race, he had a small accident due to a hook with some tapes on the first lap that made him delay some position. Anyway, quickly, and from the eighth position, he recomposed himself to recover the lost positions, reaching the leaders and leaving alone to finally take a new victory. He was accompanied on the podium by Miguel Sánchez and Martín Mata.
After winning on Sunday and completing the weekend’s double of victories, Aitor Hernández confessed: “I couldn’t be happier with how this weekend went. I leave Burgos with two victories and that is something that makes me very happy and, in addition, it gives me motivation to face the races that lie ahead. Today I had very good feelings and I was able to open a hole in an area of heavy sand to go alone. The Burgos circuits of these two days are very beautiful and entertaining to compete, so I am very happy to have felt so good. I want to thank all my sponsors for their support, which is essential, to achieve victories like this.”
