16 Jun Alcoba shines at Misano
Comeback and 7th place in Race 1, top 5 in Race 2 at WorldSSP
The Misano World Circuit hosted the first race of the sixth round of the Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP), where Jeremy Alcoba once again showcased his talent and determination aboard the Kawasaki of the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team.
After a practice session and a Superpole qualifying marked by bad luck (his fastest lap was canceled due to yellow flags following a crash) Alcoba qualified 13th, which placed him on the fifth row of the grid for the race held under very high temperatures.
Strong comeback in Race 1
The start was crucial, and Jeremy managed to hold his initial position without losing ground. Maintaining a solid and steady pace, he gradually climbed up the field, breaking into the top 10 within the opening laps. His pace remained relentless throughout the race, allowing him to cross the finish line in a well-earned 7th place, scoring valuable points.
Jeremy assessed his race positively, highlighting a good start and efficient tire management, which enabled him to keep a strong pace until the end. He also thanked the team for their hard work and expressed optimism about improving in Sunday’s race.
Race 2: Keeping up the pace
The sixth WorldSSP round concluded today in Misano with a second race where Alcoba maintained his strong form.
Starting again from the fifth row, under extreme heat conditions, the Spanish rider delivered another excellent performance. His pace allowed him to gain several positions, reaching 5th place. On lap thirteen, race direction waved the red flag after a crash left a rider on the track. At that moment, Alcoba was running 5th, matching his best result of the season, after also finishing top 5 in Race 2 at Phillip Island.
