ALCOBA SIXTH IN RACE 2 AT PORTIMAO

Alcoba puts in a strong performance, sixth in Race 2 at Portimao

The second round of the Supersport World Championship concluded today at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal.
Yesterday, Jeremy Alcoba finished in the top ten in the first of the Portuguese races, crossing the line in ninth place. Today, after the morning warm-up, the Kawasaki WorldSSP rider returned to the Algarve track for Race 2, starting from the fourth row of the grid due to the lap time set in Race 1.

Thanks to a good start, Jeremy quickly moved up towards the front. The Spaniard maintained a strong rhythm, battling for the podium throughout the 17-lap race and finished in sixth place. This result earned Alcoba 10 points for the championship standings, where he now sits in seventh place with a total of 34 points.
The next WorldSSP round will take place at the Assen TT Circuit in The Netherlands from April 11th to 13th.

Regarding his performance, Alcoba mentioned that he was a little tired because he pushed very hard throughout the race. Starting from P10, he had a solid start and tried to gain a few positions in the first lap. He stated that the feeling, compared to yesterday, was much better with a full fuel tank, allowing him to maintain a strong pace from the beginning. Although he struggled with some gap to the riders ahead, he kept pushing hard. When he caught them, he was already quite tired. He also fought with the bike, which had a bit of chatter, but it was much better than the day before. Although he lacked something to help him in the corners, Alcoba emphasized that he was pushing to the limit. Despite everything, he was very happy with his performance, as the work with the team had been in the right direction, and he felt they ran a really good race.
