ARGENTINA GP CHRONICLE SAG TEAM

The tour of the American continent for the Moto GP championship begins. This weekend we had the second race of the championship, the GP of Argentina. ISB Sport’s ambassadors, the SAG Racing Team, competed in the Moto 2 race on a rainy weekend. We leave you with the chronicle of the GP of Argentina.

The Argentine Grand Prix is held at the Autódromo Internacional de Termas de Río Hondo, a 4,806 km racetrack located on the outskirts of the city of the same name, on the banks of the homonymous reservoir, in the province of Santiago del Estero, Argentina.

Throughout the weekend the weather conditions were not the most desirable for the drivers and teams on the grid. The SAG Team riders finished the qualifying sessions with 17th place for Bo Bendsneyder (1’43.358) and 24th for Lorenzo Dalla Porta (1’44.233).

Once Sunday arrived, the rain reappeared. Once the Moto 3 race ended with several crashes in the fight for the podium it was Moto 2’s turn. Race Direction made the decision to cut the race to 14 laps as the drivers had not had the opportunity to practice in these conditions during the weekend. Therefore, we were going to have a “sprint race” in the middle category. We had a very busy start to the race in which the riders adapted to the rain, the wet asphalt and the spray that the bikes lifted especially on the straights. The ISB Sport ambassadors did not feel comfortable and did not have the opportunity to fight for the first places. Bo Bendsneyder was for a few laps running inside the top 15 fighting for points but finally crossed the finish line in 22nd position followed by his SAG Racing teammate, Dalla Porta, who finished the race in 23rd place.

It has not been the best start to the championship for the SAG Racing Team riders as they have not yet been able to score points for the classification. Even so, there are many races left and from ISB Sport we are sure that things will improve for SAG Racing.
