Carlos Tatay debuts at JuniorGP

SAG Racing Team driver Carlos Tatay completes his first two races of the season at Estoril with a podium finish at the first round, a bittersweet prize after failing to complete his weekend efforts as he suffered a crash in the second race.

During the first race, the ISB Sport ambassador driver stood firm fighting for second position, which he lost after suffering contact with another driver. After the red flag, Tatay made a new start that led him to fight for the first positions from start to finish. Completing the first race in second position, a result expected by the team after the great work done prior to the race.

Fortune did not accompany the pilot of the Peramina Mandalika SAG Racing Team who could not finish the second race of the day after suffering a fall with another driver, with thirteen laps to go.

#99 Carlos Tatay

“Very positive weekend, from Thursday until today the pace has been very good. We are with the best riders on track. Today during the second race it did not go as we expected, but in the first I was able to recover after suffering a touch with another rider and arriving second at the finish line. It’s not what we’re looking for, we could have fought for a little more. We still need kilometres with Moto2, it’s a matter of understanding more things and learning from mistakes. It is a new category for me, but we have to continue in this line. We are fast, we simply have to polish details that make us more constant. I’m very happy with how the season is starting, focused on the home race.”

The second round of the JuniorGP of the Moto2 category will take place at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit and from ISB Sport we are already looking forward to seeing Tatay demonstrate his talent among the young JuniorGP riders.
