26 May First points for Jaume Masiá at Montmeló
The Pertamina Mandalika Gas Up Team, ambassador of ISB Sport, scored three points at his home race, the first points for Jaume Masiá in the Moto2 Championship. His team-mate Dani Muñoz, who is replacing Bendsneyder, was unable to complete all the laps.
Jaume Masiá completed his sixth race in the intermediate class with a well-deserved reward for his hard work since the start of the season. During the race, Masiá made an excellent start that placed him in twenty-third position, starting from there an impressive comeback to the points positions. Past the halfway point of the race, our talented rider continued to make progress, making his way towards his goal in the second group of the race. Finally, Masiá crossed the finish line in thirteenth place, fighting until the last corners and opening the scoreboard with three points. This is a step forward that marks a new path for both the rider and the team.
On the other side of the box, the feelings were bittersweet due to the premature crash of our young talent Dani Muñoz. The rider from Dos Hermanas suffered a crash in the opening laps, at turn 10, while lapping in seventh position. Muñoz showed fierce determination as he returned to the track in an attempt to complete the race. A few laps later, our rider returned to the pits while the team repaired the bike, allowing him to rejoin the race. From the moment of his reinstatement, Muñoz rode with determination, complying with the penalties imposed for exceeding the track limits. Despite the rider’s and the team’s best efforts, Muñoz was unable to finish the race.
This concludes a weekend full of emotions for the Pertamina Mandalika Gas Up Team, starting from the second row of the grid and scoring the first points for Jaume Masiá.
