It was another historic day at the Savigno Race for Metallurgica Veneta MTB Professional Team, which occupied the entire podium in the first race of April, 42 kilometers for 1,500 meters of elevation gain up and down the Bolognese Apennines, a stone’s throw from sponsor Beghelli’s molded components production facility.
Victory after victory, podium after podium, the team in the Italian appointments responded with great determination and was unstoppable with Jacopo Billi who after breaking the ice in Monteriggioni on the hills of Valsamoggia where the Savigno Race was run, crossed the finish line with his arms raised going on to seize his second success of the season anctiicipating his teammates.
Massimo Rosa was was the first to light the fuse, and when Billi took over hand in the race, along with Nicola Taffarel he focused on the goal of read the best the race and keep controlled the race. The superiority numbers of Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team did not left no room for the opponents and in the final Rosa and Taffarel have fended off the rest of the opponents, playing for the two lower steps of the podium.
Good fifth, Ole Hem caught many positives today, the Norwegian rider is still not 100%, but he feels he is growing and he showed a very good determination for the next two races. Realistically Maria Zarantonello was hoping for a very good result, certainly not the win. The biker from Vicenza knew that Mara Fumagalli was the favorite and raced with the right mental approach for second place, setting her pace without taking too many risks on the descent.
