17 Oct ISB SPORT AND “LA VUELTA A MALLORCA MASTERS”
One more year and from October 11 to 16, in Mallorca, the celebration of the “Semana Internacional de Ciclismo Masters” was held, an appointment that reaches its 25th edition and was attended by about 300 local, national and, above all, international runners. The main novelty of this last edition was the addition of one more stage with respect to recent editions, that is, it goes from three to four stages.
From the 11th to the 14th, we were able to enjoy the “Vuelta a Mallorca para Masters”, a test divided into four demanding stages and a total route of 306 km. During these exciting and strict four days, we had the pleasure of having the members of the ISB Sport Team formed by Eduardo Alonso, Albert Pinyana, Marc Real and Jaume Caro who faced three stages in line and a chrono-climbing stage with a finish in Castell de Santueri (Felanitx).
In this edition, Albert Pinyana and Marc Real were the best classified cyclists of the ISB Sport team. Pinyana sneaked into the top four and Real finished 11th in the final general classification of the M40 category. Teamwork and being seen in all stages, characterized this team that finished 5th by teams, fighting face to face, with the first level foreign squads.
After the “Vuelta a Mallorca para Masters” and two days later, Mallorca was also the scene of the 28th edition of the European Cup for Masters. One-day competition where participants made a circular route of 105 km with departure and arrival in Alcudia (on Avenida Prínceps d’Espanya).
During this test, we were able to see the entire ISB Sport team again, but the fatigue in the legs after the Vuelta a Mallorca took its toll on most riders. James Boyman won the sprint to Christopher Mcnamara and the rest of the peloton came split in 4 groups. The first crossing the finish line at 44 seconds and the second group at 51 seconds, where Marc Real was, first classified of the ISB Sport team.
The ISB Sport team says goodbye to Mallorca with very good feelings and is already thinking about the 2023 season, in which new signings will join the team. Among them, Raül Castelló, current champion of Catalonia and 3rd classified in the Tour of Mallorca in category M40.
The ISB Sport team used the renowned ISB Xforce bearings, with evolved structure, which provide the extra performance, efficiency and power required in the most demanding top-level competitions.
