LUCKY LAKE 3D BIKE

From ISB Sport we really wanted to present the project of Lluc Uceda. Finally we can show the result of Lucky Lake, the bicycle created from 3D printing.

After seeing the process in the previous post, we proceed to the assembly and installation of all the components to check the correct functioning of the bicycle. Once all the details have been checked and the resin applied, the imperfections are sanded to achieve a smooth and uniform finish. Finally, all the components are painted and a layer of matt black varnish is applied. All components are joined together and the correct operation is checked. Finally we can see the result of Lucky Lake.

Lluc Uceda had the objective of solving the problem of over-production and low quality of the product, since most bicycle manufacturers produce a very high amount of these, which leads to quality problems, from which manufacturing defects and little customization of the product derive. To solve this, Lluc has created a bicycle frame that can be fully customizable to the customer’s taste, designed from the ground up in SolidWorks to deliver exactly what is desired, without unnecessarily discarding materials and producing exactly what has already been sold. For this, it has relied on 3D printing that facilitates creating the desired product with a very high quality of materials and manufacturing details in a short time. In ISB Sport we have documented this whole process and we have been able to see the challenge it has meant for Lluc.

Lluc Uceda

“This project has been a total challenge for my career as a student, since I have learned that despite setting difficult challenges, you can always continue researching and improving the design technique to carry them out successfully. At the beginning of this challenge I thought I knew many details of bicycles, but it has been researching that I have really learned the small points that can make a bicycle work or not properly.”

From ISB Sport we want to congratulate Lluc for carrying out his project and encourage more young people to start the projects they have in mind.
