MARC CALMET, FROM RIEJU PEDREGÀ TEAM, DAKAR 2025 FINISHER

From ISB SPORT & the Rieju Pedregà Team we have experienced a complex and really hard Dakar, most of the stages were devastating, both for the drivers and the machines, the terrain had endless dry tracks with a lot of stones that raised large clouds of dust with hidden traps, fesh-fesh areas, very soft sand and some stages of dunes. Also the tablets that the pilots carried played a trick on more than one by stopping working. Numerous obstacles have marked the development and outcome of this 2025 edition in which almost half of the motorcycle riders who started have not managed to be finalists.

Marc Calmet has been one of the toughest drivers of this edition; From the first special he suffered the harshness of the race, despite this, he continued to position himself stage after stage, overcoming incidents to stay in the race. In the first week, a fall in which he fractured a rib did not prevent him from staying in the race. At the beginning of the second week, a mechanical problem left Marc out of the competition, the Catalan driver was rescued by the organization, but he arrived too late to the camp, losing up to 15 hours in an unforeseen way… Despite this incident, Marc gave him guts and courage to continue re-engaging in the Dakar Experience, with one goal: to reach the final of the Dakar 2025, for brand work and fight personally until the last stage, to get on the podium, a wish. that he has achieved and we must congratulate him for this great effort.

On the part of the Bolivian pilot Daniel Nosiglia, he had a very competitive Dakar, with a great performance, a race from less to more, being very consistent among the group of the first 25, obtaining good times in the specials and overcoming problems, even those of others, such as in the third stage, where his tablet stopped working, leaving him unable to follow the roadbook, Daniel solved it masterfully, finishing in 24th position. Thus little by little he was climbing the scratch classification, reaching the second week very animated and combative, placing himself in 19th position overall, among a competition that has shown a high level. Unfortunately, a fall in stage eight, in which he dislocated his shoulder, left the driver out of the race, unable to get back into the race, as this is not allowed for RallyGP drivers.

Josep Pedró arrived very well prepared both physically and mentally, but he had to suffer from the first special, since he was only able to complete the prologue stage cleanly, while, in the first stage, a breakdown caused him to lose a lot of time, leaving him out of the race. Josep rejoined the Dakar Experience, returning to the competition with the hope and drive of finishing another Dakar. At the beginning of the third stage, Pedró suffered a severe fall in which he fractured two ribs, one of them displaced, which was dangerous for his health. He reached the end of the stage with a lot of suffering and was forced to retire.

Although the results have not been what we expected, we are proud of the team we have, facing all the difficulties and doing a magnificent job by everyone during these two intense and competitive weeks.
