2024 was a season worth remembering for Metallurgica Veneta MTB Professional Team but the team’s prospects are already looking towards the future and the next competitions. With five riders who had the technical support of Cannondale, the team experienced a season full of emotions, achieving important results both in Italy and internationally.
In 2024, the Tuscan team enjoyed a high-level season, shining in the 4 Island MTB Croatia stage race. In Croatia, Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team recorded two stage victories with Nicola Tfattol and Massimo Rosa who wore the yellow jersey as leader of the general classification for four days, finally taking the final victory. This result, one of the objectives of the year, represented a moment of great pride for the team.
The races in Italy
In the first race of the Italian calendar there was the impressive one-two-three at Bacialla Bike, signed by Nicola Taffaril, Jacopo Billi and Massimo Rosa and the first victory of Maria Zarantonello with the new team colours. At the beginning of April, just like at Bacialla Bike, Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team dominated the Savigno Race, replicating the success with another hat-trick.
Individual goals
Nicola Taffaril was the most winning rider of the season, the rider from Treviso celebrated four times, followed by Jacopo Billi (three victories), Massimo Rosa (two victories) and Ole Hem and Maria Zarantonello with one victory each. A month before his retirement from competitions Ole Hem crowned his career with the title of Norwegian Marathon Champion.
Extraordinary numbers
After a good debut at the end of February in Spain at the Andalucia Bike Race, in the first two Italian races Nicola Taffaril, Jacopo Billi and Maria Zarantonello gave the team the first three of the eleven victories that the team managed to achieve in 2024.
Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team achieved a total of 27 podiums and 34 Top 10 finishes, demonstrating constant competitiveness in a calendar full of events, an extraordinary result that represented a new milestone for the team. All five of its riders have raised their arms this season and have also achieved a combined 27 podiums and 34 Top 10 finishes in a highly competitive calendar.
But the numbers don’t stop there, in the two UCI Marathon World Cup events in which it participated, in the Czech Republic and in France, the team was able to reach four positions in the Top 15. Placements that have shaped a calendar that is as competitive as it is international.
In the overview of the season, in the most prestigious event on the national marathon panorama, Jacopo Billi and Maria Zarantonello obtained seventh place at the Italian Championship in Letojanni. Billi ended the season on a high, winning the final rankings of the national Marathon Tour and Trek-Zerowind MTB Challenge circuits.

With a mix of young talents and expert athletes, Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team has consolidated its role as a protagonist in the national and international mountain bike scene. As impressive as the 2024 wins and podiums may be, Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team is a project with a long-term vision. The main objective is to continue to win and develop, which is why the project for 2025 is constantly evolving and this is why the team plans new hires and important technical innovations.
