Taffarel and Candeago: Dario Acquaroli’s double assault on the top

After a series of unfortunate episodes, the team finds its stride in the Iseo international race. Nicola Taffarel soars to the second step of the podium, while Candeago regains the lead and takes the top five. A high-level weekend propels the team toward the season finale. All eyes are now on the Roc d’Azur gathering. September 29, 2025, Iseo (BS) – Sometimes, in cycling, as in life, it’s the details that make the difference. When bad luck, ailments, and technical failures give way, talent finally finds its revenge.

For Dario Acquaroli, every detail fell into place for Metallurgica Veneta MTB Professional Team, giving the team one of those days where hard work, determination, and talent find full expression.

In the historic Iseo international race named after the great and late MTB champion, the team demonstrated its competitive edge, placing two riders in the top five. Nicola Taffarel delivered a top-notch performance, taking a prestigious second place. The race culminated on the final climb, where Taffarel managed to join the ranks of the best. After Davide Foccoli’s winning attack, the Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team rider calmly took the two-man sprint, overtaking Stefano Goria. This result feels like redemption after recent setbacks and improves on his third-place finish in the 2024 edition.

Rounding out a more than positive day, Andrea Candeago sealed his return to the top spots with a well-deserved fourth place after a difficult period. A performance that speaks of tenacity and relentless work, qualities the young rider from Treviso has never stopped displaying, even in the most challenging moments, confirmed by a close gap to the winner.
