NAFENT MAGAZINE; ISB SPORT AND GRAVEL: AN EXPERIENCE LIVED FROM THE INSIDE

Through racing, community, ambassadors and technical solutions developed in real-world conditions, the brand continues to deepen its commitment to the discipline.

Gravel is no longer just a trend. It has become a way of understanding cycling. Freer, more unpredictable and more authentic. And in a landscape where everything is constantly shifting, ISB Sport is not simply present — it is fully committed.

Because when we talk about gravel, we are talking about real effort, uncontrollable conditions and components that have to perform across a wide range of scenarios. And that is exactly where it all begins for ISB Sport.

A commitment that goes far beyond presence

The Italian bearing brand has chosen to invest in gravel from the inside out. Not as just another discipline, but as a key space in which to develop products, build community and bring real value to cycling. Its commitment is built on three clear pillars: competition, events and technical development. But what truly sets it apart is the way those elements are connected.

ISB Sport works with teams, listens to mechanics, analyses every race and stays close to the terrain, because gravel is not uniform — and neither is ISB Sport’s commitment to it.

Where gravel happens

One of the keys to this strategy is being present in the places where gravel is genuinely growing. ISB Sport’s collaboration with key players in the sector such as Klassmark places the brand at two events that have already become benchmarks on the scene: Santa Vall and Ranxo. These are races where mud, technical demands and physical intensity push both rider and components to the limit. Real-world settings where ISB Sport bearings are tested against exactly what they were designed to endure.

This is complemented by the brand’s work alongside Ocisport, a strategic partner that shares its vision for the future. Its events programme, which includes fixtures such as Sea Otter Europe in Girona, is giving gravel an increasingly prominent role through formats like the Gravel Ride Tour and top-level races such as the UCI Gravel World Series. It is an international environment in which ISB Sport continues to strengthen its position, edition after edition.

The brand is also expanding its footprint by supporting a wide range of races across Spain, reinforcing the network that helps the discipline grow from the grassroots up. And along the same lines, it has gone one step further by creating its own ISB Sport experiences. A clear example is Laietania Gravel, held in the Maresme area near Barcelona, which was born as a direct reflection of the brand’s way of understanding the sport. It is not just a race, but a meeting point for the community, where gravel is experienced in its purest form: terrain, adventure, intensity and a passion for every kilometre. The event also strengthens the brand’s positioning through the presence of international riders such as Daan Grosemans, whose participation raises both the sporting level and the visibility of the event, linking it to the wider global gravel scene.

The people who represent gravel

But ultimately, it is people who give meaning to all of this. And ISB Sport’s ambassadors represent exactly what gravel is today: riders who do not recognise limits and who turn every race into a real-world testing ground for the brand they represent.

Tiago Ferreira needs little introduction. A former XCM World Champion, an international reference for over a decade and one of the most complete riders on the global scene. His ability to adapt, his experience in long-distance races and his race intelligence make him a perfect fit for gravel, where every detail matters and endurance is just as important as technical skill.

Daan Grosemans, meanwhile, represents the new generation. A rider with a consistent presence on the international circuit, competitive at the highest level and with a clear trajectory within the global gravel scene. His profile combines performance, aggression in racing and a very natural connection with both the public and the community.

Within the Massi ISB team, 2026 marks an important step forward with a stronger gravel focus in the race calendar. And it does so with names that raise the level of the project. The participation of Mónica Calderón and Tessa Kortekaas in races such as Ranxo by The Traka reflects this natural evolution towards a discipline that is becoming more competitive and more demanding every season. Two riders bringing their MTB experience into gravel settings where endurance, technique and race management are essential.

Alongside them, the ISB Factory Team continues to represent the brand’s commitment to young talent, helping build the future from the ground up.

And a special mention goes to Furore Gravel, which recently delivered an outstanding result: champion and runner-up at the Catalan Gravel Championships. An achievement that highlights not only the level of the team, but also the importance of having reliable equipment in real racing conditions.

Technology born on the terrain

All of this brand activity has one clear goal: to develop the best product possible. ISB Endurance BO bearings are the direct result of this work. They are not born in an isolated laboratory, but in races, in mud, water and dust, and in accumulated kilometres of hard riding.

Within this range, there are two key solutions:

  • FCNC Magenta: designed for the most extreme conditions. Water, mud, constant wear. Maximum protection without compromising performance.
  • LCNC Green: developed for faster gravel riding, where efficiency and low friction help riders squeeze every watt without sacrificing reliability.

ISB Sport understands that there is no single way to ride gravel. That is why it develops specific solutions for every way of living the discipline.

More than a discipline, a way forward

ISB Sport is not just backing gravel. It is helping drive it forward. Through events, teams, ambassadors and technical development, the brand continues to build a strong, coherent and genuine presence within the discipline. Because in the end, it all comes down to one thing: being where things really happen.

And gravel is exactly that.
