Patxi Cia Mountain Bike Master World Champion

Last weekend the UCI Master MTB World Championship in XCO was held in Cerro Bayo (Argentina). The most important mountain bike event for all those cyclists over 35 years old.

The Navarrese cyclist of Team ISB Patxi Cia participated in the age range of 45 to 49 years. On Sunday, April 23, at 11 am, this Olympic distance race began and the Pamplona native left with the clear intention of revalidating the title of Master World Champion that he already won in 2021 at the French station of Pra Loup.

From the first lap of the race, Patxi Cia escaped from his rivals and was controlling the distance during the five laps of the Argentine circuit. Crossing the finish line as the winner with a total time of 1 hour 19 minutes and 25 seconds. Taking 24 seconds to the second classified, the also Spanish Héctor Guerra and more than 3 minutes to the third classified, the Colombian Jhon Jairo Botero.

Patxi Cia used for this race the ISB Pro bearings, designed to be multiobjective and provide optimal performance in competition, in terms of friction reduction, with the consequent benefit in overall performance. Its main advantages over standard bearings are, on the one hand, a higher operating speed and, on the other, a longer service life under the same conditions of use. Its low coefficient of friction (up to 10 times lower than in steel bearings) due to the balls, provides an extremely smooth operation generating less heating, less wear and, therefore, prolonging its durability.
