Bittersweet start of the 2023 season in the world championship for ISB Sport ambassadors, Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team.

In the first round of the Moto2 season on March 26, held in Portugal, specifically at the Algarve Motorsports Park, a circuit located in the beautiful surroundings of the Portuguese Algarve and which has 15 corners: 9 right and 6 left, we could enjoy the participation of the ISB Sport ambassador team, the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team, which despite its struggle and competitiveness, did not achieve the expected results.

In this test, Dalla Porta completed his debut with the team. The Italian rider finished his first of the world championship in nineteenth place. Bittersweet result for the rider who is adapting to the team and his new bike in a positive way and is getting closer and closer to finding the key and fighting for the front positions. In the course of the race, the Italian took a new step forward, fighting intensely for points positions in a large group of drivers.

On the other hand, Bendsneyder was unable to complete the opening race after suffering a race incident in the opening laps. The collision of a driver at the first corner ended the Dutchman’s chances to contest the race. However, Bendsneyder remains optimistic ahead of the next round of the World Championship in Argentina, clinging to the good feelings of the pre-season tests and the dispute during the weekend.

The race had a clear and more than deserved winner, Pedro Acosta, who took the first position on the second lap and since then, led the race from start to finish.

The second race of the Moto2 Motorcycle World Championship will take place next week at the Argentine track of Termas de Río Hondo on the occasion of the Grand Prix of the Argentine Republic.

#64 Bo Bendsneyder

“I want to thank my entire team for the great work they have done during the winter break and during the weekend. We were unlucky today to be taken out of the race by another driver, I could not avoid it. These are part of the races that are completely out of our hands. I’m not happy with today’s result but I’m sticking with the good part of testing and being able to fight for the front positions this weekend. The motivation is high to arrive in Argentina ready for a new race weekend.”

#19 Lorenzo Dalla Porta

“It wasn’t the race we wanted and expected but we’re done. We have understood quite a few things, although we are still far away but I think there is very little left. In Argentina we need to go out very concentrated and so we will find our way to the front positions. We have to be encouraged and give our best – our time will come soon!”
