ROUND 5 CHRONICLE KAWASAKI PUCCETTI RACING

Yesterday was the third and final day of the fifth Superbike World Championship at the Misano World Circuit, which took place under the scorching Italian sun. This was the first home round for Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, the perfect opportunity for the staff to meet with sponsors and fans and showcase a special livery dedicated to their historic sponsor, ELF.

Tito Rabat got back on the Italian team’s Ninja and worked with his technical staff to regain confidence with the bike. On Saturday, having qualified twenty-second in the Superpole, the Spanish rider finished race 1 in nineteenth position.

On Sunday morning, he took part in the Superpole Race, which consists of just ten laps. Unfortunately, Tito didn’t have the best start and found himself at the back of the pack in the early stages. However, he found a good rhythm and climbed up to sixteenth place before the race was prematurely ended with a red flag due to an accident.

The second race took place in the afternoon, but unfortunately, it didn’t last long for the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider, as he was forced to retire after his bike chain broke. It was a rather unusual setback, something the Italian team had never experienced before.

#53 Tito Rabat said, “We had bad luck today because it’s really strange for the chain to break on the first lap. Despite the negative result in race 2, overall it was a positive weekend because I felt more and more comfortable on the bike, made three good starts, and I’m sure that without this problem this afternoon, we could have reached the podium, especially because my pace in the sprint race was already stronger than in yesterday’s race. Now we turn the page and focus on the next round at Donington, which will undoubtedly go better.”
