06 Oct SERGIO MANTECÓN & JOSÉ MARÍ SÁNCHEZ up to the Gravel World Championship
The second edition of the Gravel World Championship is being held in Veneto this weekend with Sergio and José Mari, ISB Sport ambassadors from Scott Cala Bandida, among those selected to represent Spain.
Our bandits are already in Italy and have already been able to reconnoiter the terrain for Sunday’s race. This test continues to gain notoriety after the great popularity that gravel is achieving.
A distance of 169 km with 2,000 meters of elevation separates Sergio and José Marí from victory to win their first gravel World Championship. A terrain with many changes since it has flat areas, technical areas and also hard climbs that will make our bandits feel like they are in an MTB race.
“It is one of our goals for the season and that is why we have been preparing for this race for a long time. I am still recovering from the fall at the SCOTT
Marathon but these days training with my teammates I have basically felt very good so I am confident in being as far ahead as possible.
I think it is an authentic gravel course, very complete and that we have an advantage being MTB racers” – Sergio Mantecón
