The Moto GP World Championship has arrived at the cathedral of Spanish motorcycling, the Jerez – Ángel Nieto circuit at Spanish GP. The atmosphere showed the desire that the Spanish fans had to enjoy the competition and there was a very good atmosphere from the first day. From ISB Sport we were looking forward to the start of the Moto2 race to enjoy our ambassador team the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team.
The ISB Sport ambassadors of the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team had a difficult start to the weekend. During the Moto2 qualifying session, Lorenzo Dalla Porta stayed in Q1 due to a crash that interrupted his best time of the session. After the crash he returned to the track to record a 1’42.676 that would position him in 25th position for Sunday’s race. On the other hand, Bo Bendsneyder started directly from Q2 thanks to the combined times of the practice sessions. The Dutch ISB Sport ambassador did a 1’42.045 conditioned by the high temperatures of the track that made the SAG Racing Team rider lose grip and not feel comfortable on his Kalex. This time would serve to start the Moto2 race in fifteenth position.
Once Sunday arrived, the problems piled up for ISB Sport’s ambassador team, Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team. Bo Bendsneyder had a mechanical problem with the alternator of his bike, this meant that he could not start it and was forced to start the race from the last place on the grid. Dalla Porta also had problems, in this case with the front brake due to an error with the Wind Stopper (tire cover) that caused the driver to start the competition from the pit-lane. Once the Moto2 race started, Bendsneyder climbed back to 17th position while Lorenzo Dalla Porta finished in 25th position with the front disc brake in poor condition. Both drivers were able to gather information for the following grands prix that will help them achieve better results.
At ISB Sport we expect the fifth race of the Moto2 Motorcycle World Championship that will take place on the French track of the Circuit de Le Mans on the occasion of the French Grand Prix, in two weeks. We hope to see the best version of the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team again and that they will thrill us again with their talent and speed.
