18 Oct TRIPLET IN “PICOTA BIKE RACE”
Sergio Mantecón and Jose Marí Sánchez, ISB Sport ambassadors, win the Picota Bike Race
This weekend also saw the Picota Bike Race in the Jerte Valley, sponsored by SCOTT. A race divided into two days.
On Saturday the time trial was held through the streets of Cabezuela del Valle. A semi-urban race of 4 kilometres that the bandits finished in 10 minutes and 31 seconds, thus achieving the first position.
After the time trial on Saturday, Sunday saw the main stage of almost 80 kilometres and 2,400 metres of positive climb, starting and finishing in Navaconcejo. Mantecón and Jose Marí had the same success as the previous day, winning the stage with a wide gap of more than 5 minutes over the runners-up. The runners-up of the race are the riders of the Cannondale TBelles team Francisco Herrero and Roberto Bou, also ambassadors of ISB Sport. In third place crossed the finish line the cyclists of the Extremadura – Ecopilas MTB Team, of which Manu Cordero is an ambassador of ISB Sport. The competition concludes with a hat-trick of ISB Sport ambassadors demonstrating the high level in which our athletes are.
