La Selección Española Femenina de Patinaje en Línea se proclama campeona del mundo en los World Skate Games 2022 disputados en Argentina.
The Spanish Women’s Inline Skating Team is proclaimed world champion at the World Skate Games 2022 held in Argentina.
The players of the National Team lived a historic night in Argentina winning France in a disputed duel that ended with the victory of ours in the third extra-time of 1-2.
The match was complicated from the beginning, the French managed to get ahead quickly with a goal in the 7th minute that also led to a double punishment for the two-minute penalty to the Spanish player Judit Pareja. The Spaniards defended tooth and nail in inferiority until the tying goal signed by Ana Sierra just before the break. In the second half the Spanish Inline Skating Team went on the offensive but could not overcome the wall created by the French goalkeeper to defend the tie until the end of regulation time.
Extra time came and the Spaniards gave no truce to the French team that was subjected to a tireless attack. The superiority was evident until the expected goal of Olivia Monjas unleashing madness on the Spanish bench and proclaiming themselves world champions for the first time.
“I want to say that this is thanks to the team of course, that we have shown to be better and we have taught that fighting every disc, believing that you can, and that when you play as a team and they all row in the same direction there is nobody to stop us.” These are the words of Vega Muñoz, ambassador of ISB Sport and captain of the national team after proclaiming herself world champion.
