Felipe Orts raises his arms again in the XCO Spanish Cup after a demonstration of power in Cervera del Mestre. The rider from La Vila, making a great reading of the race, delivered the final blow on the penultimate lap, where he managed to ride alone to add his second victory in the cup competition.
Cervera del Maestre hosted the last installment of the XCO Spanish Cup, where Felipe Orts took the start with a clear objective, to get the victory. That desire was demonstrated from the first stages, with the rider from Alicante gaining positions with solvency until he was placed in second position, in the wake of the leader of the competition Cristofer Bosque.
This script would be prolonged in time, with both riders opening a margin over the pursuers. Felipe Orts, with a very good feeling, decided to dose his efforts in search of victory. With the strategy well defined, the rider from Alicante made a change of pace with two laps to go, making use of his great explosiveness, to go off alone getting a lead close to half a minute.
With the differences stabilized, Orts enjoyed in the last kilometers to get to raise his arms at the finish line getting a victory with a smell of redemption in a season marked by bad luck and setbacks. With this result, Orts concludes the Spanish Cup adding two consecutive victories and getting the second position in the general classification.
