Report by Patxi Peula, ISB SPORT Ambassador.
Last weekend, the Camilo Cano Pavilion hosted the Spanish Indoor Speed Skating Championships. This national event kicked off the season for this discipline, and our veteran Spanish skater, Patxi Peula, once again demonstrated that he remains a leading figure in Spanish speed skating after his performance at the 2016 Spanish Indoor Championships, held in La Nucía.
In a competition marked by intensity and a high level of competition, Peula reached the podium with a silver medal in the long-distance race (10 laps), confirming his excellent form despite his age.
The event brought together the best specialists in the country in an explosive format, where every lap counts and mistakes are costly. In this environment, the Basque skater drew on his experience to stay in contention until the end and deliver a highly commendable performance.
In addition, the championship included speed events such as the 240 meters, in which he also participated, demonstrating competitiveness in various disciplines of the indoor program.
With this result, Peula continues to expand his legacy and reaffirms his position as one of the longest-serving and most competitive skaters on the Spanish scene, remaining among the elite in the face of new generations.
The indoor season thus closes with another success for the skater, who continues to add podium finishes to his historic career.

At ISB Sport, we are very proud to say that our high-quality bearings are delivering exceptional performance, allowing our athletes to reach their full potential in every competition.
