The Marradi team, ambassador of ISB Sport, also continued its climb up the rankings at the Granfondo del Durello, achieving with Nicola Taffarel and Maria Zarantonello a double podium in the last competition of April.
Nicola Taffarel took his Cannondale Scalpel Hi-Mod to second place, while teammate Maria Zarantonello finished on the second step of the podium in her first participation at the Verona granfondo.
The weekend of the Granfondo del Durello was not been easy for any of the riders of the Tuscan team, which after a stupendous performance at the 4Island MTB Croatia, aware that the physical and mental energies were limited and the tank was still in reserve, limited the damage on an explosive course of 43.5 km.
Nicola Taffarel started the race in the leading group head by holding the winner’s wheel until the second climb and as the final approached he controlled the return of Peeter Pruus getting the second place of the day.
Massimo Rosa and Jacopo Billi also came to this race knowing that their energy was limited after 4Island and still honored the jersey by trying to do the best of their possibilities. The goal of the two Piedmont bikers was simple, to follow the leading group as long long as possible and then limit the damage, which was best succeeded by Rosa who finished fifth. At the end Billi’s result it was also correct, was perhaps hoping for a better, but he crossed the finish line outside the Top 10.
Maria Zarantonello finished another race on a high note, continuing with momentum her season which saw her after her victory at Bacialla Bike on the podium in all the other four races she competed in. The biker from Vicenza returned to racing after her two-week rest and with awareness she achieved a well-deserved second place.
