HISTORICAL DEBUT OF METALLURGICA VENETA

Team Report from Metallurgica Veneta Pro Team, ISB SPORT Ambassador

Metallurgica Veneta Professional Team achieved its best-ever result in the UCI HERO Marathon World Cup thanks to Eskil Evensen-Lie’s sixth-place finish in Calpe. The Norwegian rider, in his debut with the team and after a week hampered by a virus, finished just 30 seconds shy of the top five in a demanding 82km race with 2,700 meters of elevation gain.

The race was decided by a strong attack from Wout Alleman and Andreas Seewald, while Evensen-Lie fought hard until the end in the chasing group. The rider himself expressed satisfaction with the result, highlighting the positive team atmosphere and the room for improvement in upcoming races.

Elsewhere on the team, Diego Arias finished 30th after a promising start, Maria Zarantonello was 15th in the women’s race, and Andrea Candeago and Nicola Taffarel had a difficult day due to physical problems, prioritizing recovery.

Now, the team focuses its attention on the Andalucía Bike Race, where it will compete with new pairings and high ambitions, including the debut of Evensen-Lie and Candeago in this race.
