Two races, two victories. In one week Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team, ambassador of ISB Sport, managed to win the first two rounds of its national calendar demonstrating outstanding performances.
It was also a memorable day at the Granfondo Castello di Monteriggioni for Metallurgica Veneta MTB Professional Team, which archived its first two races in Italy as a protagonist.
Seven days after the first victories of Nicola Taffarel and Maria Zarantonello at the Bacialla Bike, the Tuscan team achieved another success with Jacopo Billi, who seized the full spoils for the first time in his career in the classic of the Tuscan calendar.
The 29-year-old from Rocca Canavese, second the previous Sunday, arrived at the start incredibly motivated to seize his first win of 2024 and rode a perfect race with the support of his teammates who protected his shoulders.
A matter of seconds for the second place that was decided on the final climb of the Monteriggioni castle, the winner was De Cosmo, favored over Massimo Rosa who finished as he did last Sunday on the third step of the podium.
Third step of the podium also in the women’s classification with Maria Zarantonello in her first real confrontation with the opponents that count. The biker from Vicenza tried to hold as much as she could on the first climb but took those 40-50 seconds that then grew in the second part of the race and again dropped in the final against the second, Debora Piana.
The good fifth place of Nicola Taffarel, who came in the small group just off the podium, and the bad luck of Ole Hem who punctured on the first descent, complete another fantastic day for everyone, staff and riders alike, proud to be part of a united team with good dynamics to continue this progression.
