ISB SPORT BETS FOR THE ANDALUCIA BIKE RACE

ISB SPORT, OFFICIAL SPONSOR ANDALUCIA BIKE RACE 2024

26 FEBRUARY – 2 MARCH 2024

ISB SPORT, the Italian brand of bearings and bicycle components, continues its commitment to MTB as Official Sponsor, one more year, of the Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin, one of the most exciting competitions in mountain biking. This event, which will take place from February 26 to March 2, promises intense emotions and challenges for all participants.

In this edition, ISB SPORT will be supporting its ambassadors, the Cannondale-ISB Sport and Scott Cala Bandida teams as well as the Italian Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team. It will be a unique opportunity to witness the performance of the pro teams and ISB SPORT bearings in action. In addition, the race will feature the participation of two more pairs of ISB Sport ambassadors.

The Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin will feature an exciting course throughout the 6 stages where riders will face terrain and weather conditions where the bearings to be used will be key in the riders’ performance.

ISB SPORT WILL REWARD THE FASTEST RIDERS IN EACH STAGE
As on previous occasions, the Italian brand will sponsor the ‘ISB SPORT Award’ and will allocate 2,400 € in economic prizes for it, since in each of the six stages of Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin will be awarded to the absolute winning pairs.

Each day 400 € will be at stake and will be shared between the two pairs, male and female, who cross the finish arch first. Thus, ISB SPORT continues to bet on cycling and giving continuity to its support for the Mountain Bike stage races.

ISB SPORT VMAX BEARINGS, KEY TO SUSPENSION
ISB SPORT’s renowned VMax bearings, specially designed for the entire swingarm, linkage and shock absorber main joint assembly, are key to the performance of MTB racing bikes. Their special design features mean that they have up to 35%-40% more load capacity than the standard ISB SPORT series steel bearings.
Their main feature lies in their special “full ball” design which consists in the elimination of the usual inner cage separating the balls and thus allowing the insertion of the largest possible number of balls. The raceways of its rings are deeper in order to obtain greater lateral support in the face of torsion and the multiple forces associated with the pivots of the bicycle, especially mountain bikes.

In addition, the amount of grease with which these bearings are lubricated is maximized to avoid “squeaking of the suspension” and they are filled from 40% (in some double row models) to 80%, depending on the bearing dimensions.
