ISB Sport promotes technical training in suspension maintenance

ISB Sport and CNL will deliver a technical session on Fox and RockShox suspensions on April 13th to professionalize maintenance in workshops.

In recent years, the cycling sector has undergone a profound technical transformation. Bicycles are becoming increasingly sophisticated, suspensions incorporate more sensitive and adjustable technologies, and end users demand performance, reliability, and durability in any condition. In this context, specialized training is no longer just an added value but a structural necessity for the market.

At ISB Sport, we understand this reality through our own history. Since 1981, the company has developed precision solutions related to the world of bearings, always with a strong investment in R&D as the engine of growth. This industrial culture, based on mechanical detail and continuous improvement, is what leads us to consider training as part of our responsibility within the cycling ecosystem.

It’s not just about manufacturing a good product, but about helping the sector understand it, install it correctly, and maintain it with sound technical judgment. Therefore, together with CNL, we continue to promote training courses aimed at workshop professionals who want to delve deeper into the internal logic of the components they work with every day.

The next session, scheduled for April 13th, will focus on Level 1 Suspension. This is a key topic considering that suspension is one of the most crucial systems in the dynamic behavior of a mountain bike. The session will cover widely used models on the market, such as the Fox 32, Fox 34, Fox 36, RockShox Judy, RockShox SID, and RockShox Pike, combining theory and practical work on the bench.

The program will address 50-hour maintenance, focusing on the complete disassembly of the fork, cleaning, lubrication, and subsequent reassembly without replacing any parts. This regular maintenance is essential to preserve performance and prevent premature wear that, in the medium term, can compromise the entire system.

The session will also delve into 200-hour maintenance, including the replacement of seals and air gaskets, a critical point for ensuring airtightness and sensitivity. Understanding when and how to intervene makes the difference between a correct service and a truly professional one.

Another training module will focus on differentiating specific fork oils, analyzing viscosities, functions, and particularities in brands like Fox and RockShox. In a market where not all lubricants are interchangeable, understanding these differences prevents errors that can directly affect hydraulic performance.

Likewise, a specific section will be dedicated to tokens: what they are, their function within the air system, how they influence travel progression, and the correct installation procedure. Seemingly small details that, nevertheless, transform the suspension’s response during racing.

For ISB Sport, this commitment to training is directly linked to our approach to product development. Our components are not designed in the abstract. They are tested in competition, under real-world conditions, thanks to our collaborative work with professional teams like Klimatiza and Massi ISB. Mud, dust, high loads, and intensive use become a constant testing ground that feeds into our technical department.

This feedback loop between racing, engineering, and the workshop is what defines our industrial culture. And training is a logical extension of that virtuous circle: sharing technical knowledge, transferring real-world experience, and raising the professional level of the sector.

Today, the end customer is more informed than ever. They know what they’re looking for, they compare, they demand. Workshops that want to stand out need solid technical expertise, not just tools. Professionalizing the maintenance of complex systems like suspensions is a direct investment in service quality and reputation.

Ultimately, for ISB Sport, training is building the future. It’s strengthening the sector’s technical foundation and consolidating a community of professionals capable of understanding what happens inside each component. Because if anything has defined us since 1981, it’s precision. And precision isn’t just manufactured: it’s also taught.
