The 161km-long stage from Bait Mohammed Bin Khalifa to Jebel Hafeet concludes Team corratec – Vini Fantini’s, ambassador of ISB Sport, first UAE Tour. The team returns home with a third and fifth place in the stage, achieved by Jakub Mareczko, and a victory in the sprint finish classification for Mark Stewart.
The Scottish rider put himself on display from the start, launching himself into a breakaway with a move that led him to wear the black jersey. Stewart consolidated his lead day after day with numerous attacks, taking in the third stage not only the lead in the sprint finish classification, but also the green leader’s jersey in the points classification. The green jersey was then lost in stage 5, which was won by Tim Merlier.
