Sachsenring Grand Prix – Preicanos Racing Team

Today’s Grand Prix at the Sachsenring circuit has left us with a bittersweet taste. Although the team’s good work and the previous days in Germany made us believe in the possibility of a good result, we have to settle for the point earned by our rider Jaume Masià, who has shown why he was the world champion last year in the Moto3 category. This is the magic of this sport, where nothing is guaranteed, and a mechanical failure can ruin a good weekend, as happened to Bo Bendsneyder.

Jaume Masià’s feat at this iconic circuit is worth more than the point earned. Today, he had to compete against riders like A. Canet, J. Alcoba, and even M. Schrotter, who was racing at home. Starting from the nineteenth position on the grid, Jaume had a good start, but some collisions with other riders in the early laps, something normal in this category, caused him to lose contact with the leading group. Later, at the crucial moment, he had to fight side by side, lap after lap, to secure the fifteenth position and earn a point.

It was not the expected weekend for our rider Dani Muñoz, who crossed the finish line in nineteenth place. Despite his good start from the twentieth position, the choice of rear tire affected him during the race. This has been his fifth race in the Moto2 category, and although he has not scored points, both the team and the rider know that the important thing is for Dani to continue gaining experience and laps on the circuit to become the great rider he is destined to be.

The bad news came when we saw our rider Bo Bendsneyder return to the box a few laps into the race. After his start, the technical team detected that the bike was hotter than usual and was experiencing power issues. After the technical analysis, the mechanical failure was verified, causing the bike to stop and Bo to abandon the race. A pity for our Dutch rider, who, despite the good work done with his technical team and starting from the fifteenth position, could not finish the good start to the weekend.
