The SCOTT Cala Bandida takes part in the Cape Epic

Following the prologue and the first two stages, the team is now fully immersed in the rhythm of the race, characterised by a very fast pace and constant demands. In this context, consistency and effective management of physical and mechanical wear and tear have become decisive factors.

Following today’s Stage 2, the duo of José Mari Sánchez and Enrique Morcillo have climbed to 11th place in the overall standings, consolidating their progress in one of the most demanding events on the international calendar.

Both riders, with previous experience in this competition, are approaching the rest of the week with ambition and determination, aiming to remain among the world’s best. To do so, they are relying on the performance of their SCOTT Spark RC World Cup bikes, equipped with top-quality components that guarantee reliability in extreme conditions, such as ISB Sport bearings.

This year’s edition, featuring 8 days of competition in extreme conditions, covers over 600 kilometres and accumulates nearly 16,000 metres of elevation gain. A route that combines long, fast tracks with demanding technical sections of singletrack, where every detail makes a difference.

There is still a long way to go. It is now that the race begins to take shape and where consistency, strategy and endurance will determine the final result.
