Not everything is about race numbers and rankings. Last week, the riders of SCOTT Cala Bandida, ISB SPORT ambassadors, took part in Kilómetro Cero Madrid-Andorra, a gravel bikepacking adventure linking Puerta del Sol with the Pyrenees, crossing a large part of Spain along the way. Together with Paco Camacho, the team approached the experience with a different mindset from their usual one: leaving competition aside to enjoy the journey, share miles with friends and experience the pure essence of adventure. Ahead of them lay a major challenge: 730 kilometres and more than 9,000 metres of accumulated elevation gain spread over four stages. The first stage took them to Ariza (Zaragoza), the second to Tardienta, after passing through the city of Zaragoza, and the third finished in Artesa de Segre. From there, they faced the final stage with the Pyrenees and Andorra as their ultimate destination.
Because an adventure like this does not only test your legs. It also tests your mind. After hundreds of kilometres of effort come the moments of doubt, accumulated fatigue, endless hours in the saddle and those moments when your body asks you to stop. Yet it is precisely there that the best stories are born. The reward came in Andorra after four days of shared effort, proving that cycling is also about discovering new places, overcoming challenges and enjoying the journey alongside those who make it special.
