THE SCOTT CALA BANDIDA COMPETES AMONG THE ELITE AT THE TRAKA 200

José Mari Sánchez finishes in the top 15 at one of the world’s biggest gravel events

SCOTT Cala Bandida competed in The Traka, one of the most important events on the international gravel calendar and currently considered one of the premier European showcases for the discipline.

The team fielded its three riders in the demanding Traka 200 race, starting and finishing in Girona, on a course of over 200 kilometers that brought together some of the world’s best specialists. The event also held a special draw: Alberto Barroso made his debut as Spanish gravel champion, wearing an exclusive jersey designed by Castelli, in a highly competitive setting.

The race was contested at a very high pace from the start, with a peloton of exceptional quality that forced riders to push themselves to the limit at all times. Barroso was the most active in the early stages, battling for positions at the front, while José Mari Sánchez grew stronger as the kilometers passed, managing his effort in a grueling race.

In the end, Sánchez managed to cross the finish line in a commendable 12th place, a highly impressive result given the international caliber of the race. Meanwhile, Enrique Morcillo finished further back, while Barroso was forced to withdraw in the final stretch after feeling the cumulative strain of a particularly long and demanding race.

Beyond the results, the presence of SCOTT Cala Bandida at an event like The Traka reinforces the team’s standing in international gravel racing, demonstrating a strong competitive level in a race that brings together the world’s elite.
