ALBERTO BARROSO, SPANISH GRAVEL CHAMPION

The SCOTT Cala Bandida rider secures an epic victory and establishes himself as a national leader in the sport

This past Saturday, SCOTT Cala Bandida achieved one of the season’s biggest successes with Alberto Barroso’s victory at the Spanish Gravel Championship, where he was crowned the new Spanish champion in a discipline that was new to him.

The team arrived at the event with a clear goal, and Barroso delivered a top-notch performance. From the very first kilometers, he positioned himself in the lead group in a race that progressively thinned out until only the strongest riders remained.

Alongside him, top names like David Valero set the pace of the race. Both managed to open a gap on the rest of the field, taking turns at the front for much of the course and maintaining a lead that would ultimately prove decisive.

In the final meters, Barroso launched his decisive attack, which allowed him to open a gap to cross the finish line alone and claim the national title.

The victory represents, to date, the team’s greatest achievement of the season, coming on the heels of their recent double podium finish at the Spanish XCM Championship with José Mari Sánchez and Enrique Morcillo, capping off a year that is shaping up to be one for the books.

Barroso claimed the title on his SCOTT Addict Gravel 10, equipped with ISB Sport bearings that enabled him to perform at the highest level in an extremely demanding setting.
