Pertamina Mandalika Gas Up Team in Portimao GP

Pertamina Mandalika Gas Up team, ISB SPORT motrosport ambassador, close to points in Portimao: Bendsneyder 16th, Masiá 21st

The Pertamina Mandalika Gas Up Moto2 team finished the second Grand Prix of the season at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. Bo Bendsneyder and Jaume Masiá crossed the finish line in sixteenth and twenty-first place respectively.

Bo Bendsneyder completed the race just outside the points, fighting from the start to the chequered flag. A relentless fight to climb positions and fight for points throughout the day. Although the race did not go as expected, the team and the rider are focused on improving the feeling for the next round, where they hope to recover the performance shown last year.

Jaume Masiá finished Portimao with a positive assessment. Despite not having the desired start to the race, Masiá skilfully advanced lap after lap, even coming close to the points positions and setting a positive pace until the final laps, where he struggled with the degradation of the front tyre. This positive learning day will surely mark a before and after in Masiá’s career for future races.

This concludes the second race of the Moto2 World Championship for the Pertamina Mandalika Gas Up Racing Team, which prepares to face new challenges in the next round of the World Championship, which will take place in three weeks at the Circuit of the Americas, from 12 to 15 April.

#64 Bo Bendsneyder
“It was a difficult race. I didn’t have a good feeling during the race so we didn’t get the result we were hoping for. Now we go to America, where we hope to do better. We will continue to work to do our best in Austin.”

#5 Jaume Masiá
“I’m very happy with today’s race, I learned a lot. The changes we made helped me a lot in the race. Very happy with the result although we have to work more on the bike to avoid destroying the front tyre as it happened today. We are going to Austin more prepared and understanding the bike.”
