SCOTT Cala Bandida achieved its goal at the 2026 Absa Cape Epic. The duo of José Mari Sánchez and Enrique Morcillo managed to finish in the top 10 of the overall classification, securing a highly commendable result in the most gruelling stage race on the international XCM calendar.
The team has managed to remain competitive throughout the week in a particularly gruelling and closely contested race, cementing its place among the world’s top teams. This result is a testament to the consistency, experience and perseverance of two riders who have once again performed at the very highest level on the biggest stage in long-distance mountain biking.
As well as their sporting performance, this year’s Cape Epic was flawless from a technical standpoint. José Mari and Enrique completed the race without any punctures, breakdowns or mechanical issues – a crucial factor in a competition where any mishap can knock you out of the race.
