Matchday 21: DEPORTIVO LICEO vs PAS ALCOI

After three games without knowing the victory, in confrontations against the teams of the upper part of the classification, Deportivo Liceo received at home to Pas Alcoi, in what was its fifth game in nine days after joining the Copa del Rey, the WSE Champions League and the OK Liga.

With a Liceo dressed in black and gold, it seemed not to notice the physical effort of the load of matches and the initial goal took little time to arrive thanks to a collective play that ended up defining Bruno Di Benedetto (1-0). Later, in the 8th minute, Alcoi managed to tie the match after a few good minutes and several chances. In the absence of 11 ‘for the end of the first half, Deportivo Liceo struck again and went ahead on the scoreboard with a goal from Sito Ricart, which Alcoi did not take long to react to put the tie back (2-2).

Already in the second half, Sito Ricart returned to advance the liceistas thanks to a play by the left flank. The reaction of the Alcoi was no longer as good as the previous one, who were not able to withstand the onslaught of Juan Copa’s team, who extended their distance on the scoreboard (4-2), with a goal from Àlex Rodríguez, taking advantage of a direct foul fruit of a blue card to Biel Pujadas. The match ended 4-2 for the home team, which returned to add 3 important points, to stay at the top of the standings and keep pace with Parlem Calafell.

Matchday 22: PARLEM CALAFELL vs DEPORTIVO LICEO

The team líceista, ambassador of ISB Sport, would return to visit the fief of Calafell in what was the match of the day for the fight for the second place of the OK Liga. Both teams met in the WSE Champions League nine days earlier and the result was 4-4.

However, on this occasion the Liceo managed to impose its good game and its great defensive strength and kept the goal to zero. The result was 0-3 and Juan Copa regained second place in the standings.

In the first minutes of the match, Àlex Rodríguez, received an accidental ball in the head that forced him to retire momentarily to the changing rooms. Subsequently, he returned and with a shot mark of the house from outside the area, put the 0-1.

In the second half, we could see a great performance by Martí Serra, the goalkeeper Liceísta, who added multiple category saves. Bruno Di Benedetto, scored the second for the Liceo in the absence of 14 minutes and Àlex Rodríguez closed the score (0-3) and put an end to the game in the 48 ‘with a Calafell in inferiority after a blue to Escala.

Matchday 23: DEPORTIVO LICEO vs IGUALADA RIGAT HC

With the goal of maintaining second place and adding the third consecutive victory, Deportivo Liceo received in Riazor Igualada, the seventh classified.

The party had a clear and deserved dominator. In the first half, Juan Copa’s team was already with a difference of three goals (3-0), thanks to a first half that bordered on perfection with goals from Francisco Torres, Alex Rodríguez and Pol Manrubia.

After a wonderful first half, the second started with the same tone thanks to a goal by Bruno Di Benedetto in the first minutes of the second half. However, the rest of the game, we saw both teams with conservative intentions for the result. The score did not move again with two minutes to go when Igualada scored its only goal of the match (4-1). The match did not end with this goal of Igualada, since in the last minute, Pol Manrubia, scored his second goal (5-1) and closed the game on an almost perfect night for the Liceo.

Matchday 24: RECAM LÀSER CH CALDES vs DEPORTIVO LICEO

In its visit to the Red Tower of Caldes to fight for a second place that could be mathematical, Deportivo Liceo, with 53 of 69 possible points in the regular phase, would win its fourth consecutive game, against a tough team in full fight to enter the playoff (one point).

In a very intense and disputed first half, the Liceo went ahead quickly on the scoreboard thanks to Dava Torres after a great pass from Àlex Rodríguez (0-1). Unfortunately, Cristian Rodriguez tied it on the next play (1-1). Later, he was able to survive a blue, Àlex Rodríguez, the direct of Marc González (Caldes) and the power play. Caldes left Juan Copa’s team alive and paid for it. After a stage of more equality, Arnau Canal did not forgive a hand to hand (minute 18) and scored the 1-2. Immediately, Àlex Rodríguez also scored directly (1-3) after taking advantage of one of the two blues that the local Marcos Blanqué would see during the clash. To end the first half, Sito Ricart (ex of Caldes) scored the 1-4.

In the second half and with nothing to lose, Caldes returned to the track for all. He completed great minutes and had numerous opportunities to close the gap. The first of them, a penalty kicked by Martí Serra. The match became a constant back and forth and Marc González put the 2-4 on the scoreboard (minute 35). The goal encouraged Caldes, although finally they did not manage to cross the wall of A Coruña. The horn sounded and made the triumph official.

Matchday 25: DEPORTIVO LICEO vs DIGITTECNIC CPV CAPITAL DEL VI

In the penultimate game of the regular season and with the aim of adding the three points at home to ensure the second position, the ambassador of ISB Sport, Deportivo Liceo, received the colista, who was in a really compromised situation. I needed to score yes or yes so as not to descend mathematically.

The match did not have great complications and the Deportico Liceo entered the match with a high intensity and little time needed the verdiblancos to get ahead on the scoreboard, since César Carballeira with a distant shot mark of the house, scored in 1-0. The first half had goals from both teams, who went to the locker room with a 3-1 favorable to Liceo and with goals from Fran Torres and Arnau Canal.

In the second half, we could also see several goals and how the Liceo quickly sentenced the game. In it the score came to 7-1. Finally and with the match already decided, in the absence of 1 minute, the Catalan team would make up the result and score their second goal (7-2). The goals of the second half, were works of; Dava Torres, Lluis Ricart (2) and Fabri Ciocale.

With this victory Deportivo Liceo secured second place in the standings, with one game remaining, after a generally magnificent season.

Matchday 26: FINQUES PRATS LLEIDA vs DEPORTIVO LICEO

In the last game of the regular season and already with the duties done to qualify for the playoffs, the Liceo faced Finques Prats Lleida as a visitor. Finques was playing to enter the playoffs, they could not relax in the last match of the regular league.

The ambassadors of ISB Sport came out plugged in the match, getting the first goal quickly after a rejection of the goalkeeper that would take advantage of César Carballeira. Almost 10 minutes later, David Torres would score the second penalty goal to extend the lead for the greens. Already in the second half, the Lleida team reacted by scoring two goals almost in a row that put them equal on the scoreboard. The Finques Prats of Lleida did not hesitate to take advantage of its good dynamics and after converting a penalty, it would score the 4-2 leaving the Liceo far on the scoreboard. Deportivo Liceo broke the bad moment it was going through with a goal from Alex Rodríguez from the left wing.With 10 minutes left in the game, Lleida had the chance to extend the lead with a penalty, but the shot was deflected. Minutes later the ambassadors of ISB Sport also had the opportunity to transform the maximum penalty to reduce distances but the goalkeeper stopped the shot. After this occasion Lleida chained 4 goals in a row that completely broke the game. Finally the Liceo managed to make up the score obtaining a result of 8-5 in favor of Finques Prats Lleida.

With the end of the regular season and with the Liceo second in the classification, Juan Copa will face each other in the Quarterfinals of the playoffs against Igualada Rigat HC.

In the regular season, Deportivo Liceo has added a total of 59 points, achieving 19 wins, 2 draws and 5 losses. It has been a very positive regular season and in which the Liceo has remained at all times at the top of the standings and in which it has not been possible to face a Barça that has not lost any game.
