ISB SPORT & SERGIO MANTECÓN WIN AT THE GRAVEL WORLD CUP
Great result for ISB Sport, being the first victory of the Italian brand in the UCI Gravel World Series and confirming the good performance offered by ISB Xforce bearings
Last weekend the Monsterrato was held in Italy, a test belonging to the Gravel World Cup and the first UCI Gravel event in Italy of the UCI Gravel World Series. The appointment took place in the famous Italian wine region of Monferrato in Piemonte, an area full of hills and picturesque villages.
The fast circuit, starting and finishing in the town of Quattordio, meandered through all the small towns and cities north of Alessandria to Asti for 125 km, completing a 1,750-metre climb full of curves and country roads. Despite not starting in the leading group, Sergio Mantecón quickly managed to climb positions to place himself in the leading group from the first kilometers. He would remain in that peloton throughout the race, leading the group on numerous occasions. However, the test would not be decided until the final stretch, where Mantecón would win the general classification after the final sprint a few meters from the finish line.
