The oldest weeklong bicycle event for Dolomites-lovers celebrates its 45° edition and will take you through the city of Bolzano, up to Renon, Passo Erbe, Val Venosta, Val Sarentino and through the Lake Valley and the city of Trento. Even more amazing and challenging! Are you ready to ride?

Founded more than 40 years ago, the Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Giro delle Dolomiti, a non-profit association, has hosted every single year this unique weeklong cycling experience. Crono Fondo – Palade | 11,7 km • 523 m • 4,5%

SHORT STAGE DESCRIPTION

It’s our first day together and even though the climb to the Mendel Pass is of particular beauty and therefore often the timed stretch for the Giro delle Dolomiti and the Tour of the Alps and the Giro d’Italia, we thought it would be too early to measure our physical condition and decided to do a long but less steep climb from Fondo to the Palade Pass on the frontier between Alto Adige Südtirol and the Province of Trento. Also, the Tour of the Alps did the same stretch last year, we will let you know how long it took them :-). After regrouping on the Pass we cycle through the Adige valley back to Bolzano for Lunch.

And it’s just a taste of the beauties that will keep you company during one of the longest timed climbs of the Giro: the view from Compaccio on the Sciliar group has no equal!

After the base of the norwegian alpine ski team of Andalo and the lake of Molveno we’ll find our first stop, after a quick Giro Sprint, in Ponte di Rendena. Then we cycle to Pinzolo, the base of the summer camps of several Serie A football teams from where the climb to Madonna di Campiglio, a famous ski resort in the Brenta Dolomites, starts. Via the Val di Sole and then the Val di Non it’s all downhill to Mezzocorona.

October 2018 we had a hurricane in this area eradicating millions of trees. You will see yourself the damage the hurricane has done to this amazing landscape. Nonetheless the climbs, the views, the surroundings are unique and will give you memories you can only dream of. From Bolzano we climb to Tiers then to Saint Cyprian from where the time stretched part begins. And it’s the beginning which is very tough. But earn for yourself. At the end of the stage we have the Giro Sprint along beautiful turns up to Gummer from where the return to Bolzano goes on secondary roads in midst of dense woods.

STAGE 6 – TEAM CRONO

SHORT STAGE DESCRIPTION

We have had 60 teams participating at the last day last year at the Giro delle Dolomiti. This is why we offer the same course this year. Its flat, it’s fun, it’s in the midst of the historical village of Cortina on the Wine Road. As usual the timing will have no impact on the overall standing.
