MARTA BORRAS WORLD JUNIOR GIANT SLALOM RUNNER-UP

The first medal for Spain at the World Alpine Inline Championships being held in Montjuïch (Barcelona) has arrived! The national team skater Marta Borràs has been proclaimed runner-up in the Giant Slalom behind the Italian Lorenza Cesaris and ahead of the Latvian Frida Salnikova. In the junior men’s category, the best Spaniard was Marcos Arias, who finished fifth.

Meanwhile, in the women’s senior category the best was Laia Torras with a tenth place and in the men’s race Sergio Méndez and Sergio Menéndez finished twelfth and fourteenth.

Finally, the team formed by Marta Borràs, Nuria Requejo, Sergio Méndez and Sergio Menéndez finished in a creditable fifth place in the Giant Slalom team event. Italy, Germany and Latvia completed the podium.

The action will return tomorrow at 09:45h with the Combined event. In the afternoon session, the team slalom events will take place.
