Patxi Cia closes its season with victory in the XCO Autumn Open.
ISB Sport ambassador Patxi Cia closes his 2022 season with one last win at Lezaun in a tough XCO test. This category is an Olympic variant of the XC that are rally-type tests with mountain bike, explosive and technical where several laps are given to the same circuit. In the ISB Sport ambassador category, 5 laps were run with a slope of 266m and a distance of 6km per lap.
The start of the test was hard for Patxi Cia who saw how the youngsters imposed a great pace. Even so, the ISB Sport rider imposed an imposing pace on his laps that allowed him to finish the race ahead of all the youngsters and show that he still has the level to be at the top. This year Patxi Cia has competed in four XCO events of which he has won two and in the remaining two he has achieved podium.

“In 2023 I want to be world champion again, I will prepare like never before Argentina, I will change the planning little, Costa Blanca Bike Race will be the first important, I will run something of a lower level before… then or Mediterranean Epic or Andalucia Bike Race and Supercup CCI for sure, April 23 is the big event and I want to reach 1000 per 1000, now a little relaxation and charge batteries”
