06 Feb Scott Cala Bandida at La Leyenda de Tartessos
This weekend has been held for the second consecutive year in the province of Huelva, La Leyenda de Tartessos, a marathon MTB test that is part of the UCI calendar in category S2 BTT Marathon and runs through the beauties of the province of Huelva touring areas such as the pine forests of Cartaya, the border with Portugal, the mining area, etc.
This year we have been able to see several novelties with respect to the test of the last course, such as the modification of the stages, being in this edition circular (removing the first, where the distance between departure and arrival is very small), a greater presence of human resources to control everything, a better evolution in the contents of the refreshments, etc.
In this tough test, which this year has had a participation of more than 450 participants, with teams at national and international level, it is divided into 4 stages. This is the distribution of them:
STAGE 1: ROCAS, PINOS Y PLAYA
Distance: 63 km
Unevennes: 900 m
Start: Cartanya
Arrival: El Rompido
STAGE 2: LA LUZ DEL ANDÉVALO
Distance: 65 km
Unevenness: 1500 m
Start: El Granado
Arrival: El Granado
STAGE 3: EL CORAZÓN DE LA TIERRA
Distance: 92 km
Unevenness: 2500 m
Start: Valverde del Camino
Arrival: Valverde del Camino
STAGE 4: LA CRONO DE EL ROMPIDO
Distance: 25 km
Unevenness: 400 m

In the stage with more trails of the edition, the first, where the great protagonists were the stones, Mantecón managed to be in sixth position, Josemari Sánchez had a mishap that forced him to abandon later, although he managed to be in an eleventh position and Pablo Guerrero for his part was P17.
The second stage, which had a final stretch between singletracks with slopes and natural rockgardens, ended with Mantecón in the thirteenth position and Pablo in the twentieth position.
In the queen stage that started on Saturday, with 92km by delate and 2,500 meters of altitude and with climbs to Peñas Blancas, the Angliru de Valverde and El Manzanito, it did not end up being the best day for the ISB Sport ambassador team, who did not get their best feelings.
In Sunday’s stage, the last one, the riders finished positioning themselves and the test ended with the ISB Sport ambassador team, Scott Cala Bandida, placing Sergio Mantecón and Pablo Guerrero among the top 20 classified, and Josemari Sánchez, who as we have already mentioned, was forced to abandon after a crash in the first stage.
Next up for Scott Cala Bandida’s team is the Mediterranean Epic that will be held from February 9 to 12.
