14 Apr Second Place for Felipe Orts in Superprestigio of Caparroso
Great performance of Felipe Orts and La Vila Joiosa – Néteo, ambassador of ISB Sport, in the Superprestigio de Caparroso, where the rider from Alicante has taken a leading role from the early stages, disputing the victory in a head to head in the final lap. With this second place confirms the good form of the rider from Vila, who after a remarkable Vuelta to Ibiza continues to grow returning to step on the podium.
Caparroso hosted this morning a new installment of the Superprestigio in one of the races marked in red by Felipe Orts in the mountain bike calendar. With the aim of revalidating the podium achieved last season, the rider from Alicante took the reins of the race from the first lap, managing to open a considerable gap with another rider to form a duo at the head of the race.
The good sensations made him take action with a very hard attack that sought to put in check his teammate in the lead. Finally, after much suffering, he managed to resist Felipe’s attack and they met in the last lap to dispute the victory.
In the races not everything goes as expected and in an uphill section, Orts put his foot down momentarily because of a problem that made him lose all chances of victory. Far from giving up, the six-time Spanish cyclo-cross champion, pulled on his courage to cross the finish line in second position with a very positive feeling.
