Girona is cementing its role as an international gravel cycling hub with a key event on the UCI calendar: the 226ERS UCI Gravel World Series Girona-Costa Brava Sea Otter Europe, which was unveiled this week in the presence of representatives from local authorities and the event organisers, underlining the strategic importance of this event within the international gravel calendar. The race will take place on 19 September, returning to the programme of the Shimano Sea Otter Europe Girona-Costa Brava by Garmin with a completely revamped route and the clear aim of continuing to grow following the success of its first editions. Furthermore, the race retains its dual nature: an international elite event and a real opportunity for amateurs to qualify for the World Championships.
